What truly sets Stickwick apart is our on-site accommodation for up to 24 guests. Friends and family can stay together all weekend, turning your event into a shared experience – with no need for late-night travel or organising transport home.
It’s ideal for weddings, family celebrations and retreats where time together really matters.
Wedding Ceremonies
Although we do not hold a wedding license, couples planning a wedding, have the option of Hennock village church (St Marys) which is a ten minute walk from Stickwick, making The Apple Barn an ideal location for a wedding reception close to your ceremony.
A Blank Canvas for DIY Events
The Apple Barn is designed for those who want freedom and flexibility. You’re welcome to organise your own DIY event, styling the space exactly as you wish. The barn provides everything you need to get started, while still allowing you to bring in your own ideas, suppliers and personal touches.

We’re here to support you as much or as little as you need – from simple hire to a fully supported event.
Extras – hay bales, decorate barrels, decorative cart wheels, staffing options for catering / bar, gazebo / small marquee, gas oven including gas, and toilets.

The Apple Barn FAQs
A small day time event only may be possible, depending on the event type. We are more than happy to discuss your ideas and plans.
For three-day hire accommodation booking is essential.
You do need to take down/remove all your own decorations and extras you have used to dress up the barn for your event. With the exception of additional lighting which we can help you with or your supplier must remove. Everything hired must be ready to be returned/collected. Waste sorted into correct recycling bins.
We have accommodation for 24 guests on site. For those who wish to camp there is a camp site 12 minute walk from Stickwick, at Hennock Hideaways.
No – we cannot offer a legal civil ceremony at Stickwick but can offer celebrants and commitment ceremonies. The village church (St Marys) is a ten minute walk away.
There is no sound system in the barn, this would need to be hired in or shared with any band, DJ or music option you book.
Yes. Please note that Stickwick is a working farm with livestock and poultry. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead.
Sorry, no fireworks or lanterns are allowed.
Yes we have basic toilets available at small extra charge for cleaning. More toilet options are available to hire in.
Yes, We offer a simple kitchen area in the barn with a small fridge and freezer space (more may need to be hired in), urns, kettles, work tops, sink and hot water. We do offer a six burner, two oven gas range but at an additional cost.
Cutlery, crockery and glassware will need to be hired in.
We can discuss staff options to help serve/clean away if needed. You can organise your own caterers to come in.
We can run a bar on your behalf, or you could do this yourself or bring in a supplier. Glasses and drinkware will need to be hired in. We can sort your license for selling alcohol.
We love a party and a dance but we also love our neighbours! We like to know what options you are considering and ask that 11pm is the end for amplified music and the event ends by 12.30pm.
Yes. Maybe you are thinking of a bouncy castle or axe throwing on the field. We do have contacts and can help. Please do discuss any ideas, we need to consider the location of activities and health and safety aspects.

All third-parties coming on site will need to provide proof of public liability insurance and any other relevant certifications depending on the service they provide.
